Mike's 1970 Challenger RT/SE |

The first
indication that the car was SLIME GREEN was on the spring seen there in the picture. And sure enough, when
I took the interior apart, there was the green.
|
|
| After pulling out the motor, it is quite obvious that the Slime Lime is Everywhere | ![]() |

I knew that I had to have an R/T, so tore the motor down, put in a Mopar Performance Magnum Cam and 4 bbl intake manifold in this non-matching numbers 383. Put a Eldelbrock 750 on top of that, and got the hood out of the desert of Arizona, and was on my way to an R/T.
| Both front fenders came off, and the drivers side inner fender had to be replaced. |

The engine compartment in paint!!! What a great day that was!!!
Challenger coming home. The Slime Lime came out yeller in picture... Jerry had the car for one year exactly. I really wasn't pleased with his work, but proceed to put the car back together. Learned a lesson, NEVER put a classic in a body shop that also does insurance work!!! |

Here it is 2001, and still dealing with the restoration. Got the motor, exhaust and stuff running, but the paint job was not up to my standards, so started sanding again. Put it in a different paint shop and got it out 4 1/2 months later. Spent about 6 months putting it back together again. And then it was time to start driving. |

April 2002,
exactly 4 years after purchasing the car, it has been licensed. But like all new
things needed to be tweaked before any serious driving. After finishing that, went
out and won some trophies. The new personalized license plates read "HIS CHAL". Guess that says it all... |

|
| THE HEARTBEAT STOPS HERE!!! | Mopar Performance everywhere, braided heater hoses and chrome radiator hose. | |

| 383 Magnum 'bout says it ALL!!! | The SE overhead console with the "door Ajar" light on, the Tuff Steering wheel, the new dash, and the Pistol Grip shifter from Gunslinger. | |

The new Just Dashes dash, Redline reverse color gauges, Tuff Wheel, Gunslinger Pistol Grip Shifter, Leather SE inserts in the seats, new carpeting, new windshield, cold pumping AC. Doesn't get any better during Cruisin' Season. |

June 23, 2002 The word SHOCKED really fit with this one. There was only a handful of Mopars at this show at the local Auto Mall. You know what I mean. All those Brand X folks with there Brand X mentality. But 2 Mopars won. I in this class, and a totally modified 52 DeSoto in the 50's Modified Class. Is that cool or what??? This was my 2nd show since completion, and it sure was nice. |

Then a couple of weeks later, in the city of Vacaville, which is between Sacramento and San Francisco, another shock. There was some really beautiful cars there, and again only a very few Mopars.
|
|
| Then in 2003 a trophy from the San Jose Mopar Show. This was the only show I had the car in during 2003. All of the other shows I was taking the trophies with the 58 Plymouth. |

On the Weekend of Aug 14, 2004, decided to go someplace different away from the Sacramento area. So we went over to MPM's 3rd Birthday Bash which was being held in conjunction with Car Crazy Promotions in San Mateo, Calif. This is a short way south of the San Francisco Airport. It was a good show, with plenty of fine looking rides of all breeds and configurations. And no one was more surprised than I was when I was awarded this plaque. OUTSTANDING

September 11, 2004 In the town of Suisun, on their Waterfront in the Delta, the local auto related businesses host a show with the proceeds going to the local Automotive ROP program. It is held under the palm trees in their beautiful waterfront park. Last year I took the '58 Plymouth, but this year I took the Challenger. As you can see there were some upset Brand X boys in the "67 & Up" Class. |
