Morrison's 1966 Dodge Dart GT Convertible
The Dodge Dart GT Convertible:
I wanted a convertible, so was able to sell the Challenger and we found this on ebay.

The vehicle was damaged a little coming out from the east coast, so it was decided to repaint the car.  But were we in for a SURPRISE!!!                                                      place cursor on photo for verbiage

Sure looked good in the E-bay photos.  Let that be a lesson learned.  A cheap paint job makes all car photos look good.  I would not have bought this car for this price, had I seen it first.

It took about 2 weeks to strip it all down and send it to the body shop.  The lower rear panels were basically non-existent (basically paper-mache'), and the engine bay was RUST.  Not something we are used to having in California.  The inside of the motor was a disaster waiting to happen.

In April 2004, the paint started going on, and things began to take shape... Marisio did it all by hand...
The white is blinding...

About the middle of May 2004 I got the car back from the body shop.  It was just a rolling shell.  But by then the Motor, Transmission, and Chrome had all been completed and was just waiting for some place to go.  It took Richard and I until September to finish the vehicle.  I rolled it out of the shop on October 1st, 2004 for these photos.  The Cadillac Pearl White is so bright I had to wear sunglasses just to wash it.  Just Beautiful...

Drivers Side, Notice the wheels, Rallies that are color coordinated with the car. Rear, note the duel exhaust
From the front Inside the trunk with new duel speakers and new trunk mat.
Rear Passenger side with GT logo Looking down at the all new bright red interior. Even the boot cover when it is installed is red. How about that white steering wheel?
The engine bay, with a white pearl air cleaner The bright red motor with chrome valve covers, and the air cleaner removed.

The motor is a completely rebuilt 273 cu in, bored .30 over, using all stock parts.  The valve covers are chromed Mopar Performance.   The electronic ignition is hidden under the dash in the interior of the vehicle.   All 4 brakes are new along with new front break lines.  The brakes now use Dot 5 synthetic fluid so as not to eat the paint if there is a spill.  All suspension parts are new with the exception of the Pitman Arm.  The transmission has been rebuilt to stock specs.  Duel exhaust was added for a more period look, and the transmission cross mount was cut away on the passenger side to allow for the new exhaust line to fit close to the undercarriage.  The Sony Stereo (with 4 speakers) is loud enough to drowned out the duel FlowMasters.
