Judging, Awards, & Field Rules

Parking with Friends (Out of Class)
You may park with your friends and out of your vehicle’s class area, but you will not be judged in this case.
Class Size
In order to promote healthy competition, if we have just one or 2 entries in any class, we will attempt to combine that class with another. If we are not able to do this, a class of only one entry will receive a Show Participation award, a class of 2-3 entries will be awarded First Place only, a class of 4-5 will receive 1st and 2nd place awards. When the class is 6 or more vehicles, that class will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards.
Judging Criteria
These are the exact instructions given to our judges. Vehicles will be judged as follows:
  1. Fit: Line up of doors, fenders, hood, trunk panels and bumpers.
  2. Finish: Condition and quality of paint, chrome, stainless, emblems, glass etc.
  3. Cleanliness: Wax residue/dirt on body and around body components, bugs on frontal area/windshield, water spots, “browning” or dirt on tire sidewalls, dirt in interior and on interior floor mats or carpet. Dirt in trunk..  Dirt grease, road grime, leaking fluids in engine bay or undercarriage. (Hint: Use a toothbrush)
  4. Condition: Tires, wiring, hoses, radiator, rubber, plastic, interior. Rusty or corroded metal components in engine bay or undercarriage. Missing components.
  5. Presentation:  (Presentation may help break a tie) Dressing on tires, hoses, rubber and vinyl looks natural and not “greasy” looking.  Seat belts neatly positioned. Hood and trunk open. Floor mats removed if not original to car.  Items or accessories not part of car removed from trunk and interior.
  6. Workmanship:  For non-stock, degree of modifications made to body, interior and/or engine bay.  Special paint and graphics.
  7. DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR.  If you would like the hood, trunk or a door opened, ask the owner to open it for you.
