CCM at Sonoma Drags Aug 2026
Capitol City Mopars setup a trup to Sonoma Raceway between Petaluma and Vallejo just off of highway 37. Sonoma Raceway has gorgeous views overlooking Sonoma County. The raceway hosts many national events including NHRA drags and NASCAR races. The track has hosted open drag racing once a week for decades. Now that the Sacramento race track has closed, it is time for our club to start visiting Sonoma Raceway.
Unfortunately we had a low turn out for our first event. Only one racer (Dominique) and one spectator (Tom) were able to make it. This was Dominique's first time racing and had an amazing time racing. She was happy with her times, but will improve with a bit more practice.
The night had many great cars ranging from 18 seconds down to under 11 seconds. BMWs, Ferrari, Work Trucks, musclecars, Motorcycles, cop cars, etc. A slalom track was running concurrently for smaller sports cars. The night runs included Police vehicles from various jurisdictions around the north bay.'=
